Now quickly approaching the end of July, I realized that I had been working with Bloodhound SSC for over a month. As the rest of the team went for lunch, I took the opportunity to record my thoughts about the work so far. What is it that I have been doing? What has surprised me? What have I gained from the experience thus far?

As the popularity of the Bloodhound SSC Project increases, so does the number of people who sign up to the 1k Supporters Club. Thus far I have never missed an event, and this one happened to be the most fun yet…

It is now the end of my third week working with Bloodhound SSC. This is however my first (almost) full week working in the Design Office… So what have I been doing?

It is quite simply an honour to be working on the Bloodhound Project, not just because it is going for a Land Speed Record, but also because I have the chance to work with some of the greatest characters in design and engineering history. Richard Noble once held the Land Speed Record, he also ran the Thrust SSC project, and is the man responsible for Bloodhound.
I managed to nab him at the end of a very long day at Goodwood for an interview…

It is rare to meet someone who has boundless enthusiasm for something as technically challenging as Bloodhound SSC. I had the pleasure of interviewing two of them in one day. First of these is Bob, a 1k club member who has not only read Richard Noble’s book many times, but has also traveled across country to the 1k club events and even to Coventry to see Thrust SSC. Today he even got tickets to Goodwood, just to come see us! I feel I should mention at this point, he is only just going into year 10…
